Mizuho Financial Group (MFG), a Japanese bank holding organization, has collaborated with Google Cloud to enhance their digital transformation. This association enables MFG to streamline the system, develop a digital marketing platform on Google Cloud, and offer Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), as a new financial service.
Mizuho president and group CEO, Masahiro Kihara, said, “The group is working with Google to deliver on the evolving needs of its customers in a new era of Covid-19, along with megatrends such as digitalization, the aging population, and globalization, which have led to significant changes in our lifestyles and economies.”
The partnership between the two firms would allow MFG to take advantage of Google Cloud’s analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to develop insights on consumer preferences and offer customized consumer interactions as a means of engaging with the bank’s retail consumers.
Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud CEO, said, “Mizuho Financial Group is using Google Cloud to deploy cloud technology, including real-time data, analytics, and artificial intelligence and machine learning, the use of which is progressing rapidly across Japan’s banking industry.”
MFG would also leverage Google Cloud’s security engineering expertise and development process to transform their system, resulting in a swifter and safer digital infrastructure system and development process.
