Worldline, a payment, and transactional services provider have been elected by Lufthansa Group a worldwide aviation company as a partner and payments provider.
The Lufthansa Group intends to establish a sophisticated payment ecosystem that will deliver integrated and concise financing options to their Group, with offerings to all members of the group.
Damien Cramer, Global Head of Travel & Airlines, Digital Commerce at Worldline, stated, “When seeking a new payment service provider, the Lufthansa Group had several critical requirements and objectives. But primarily, they were looking for support from an experienced team of payment experts with the right level of sectoral knowledge and a market-leading suite of payment solutions. We are delighted that they have put their trust in Worldline to help them deliver the success they are targeting.”
The collaboration will allow Lufthansa Group to integrate a variety of Worldline solutions, ranging from payment methods to unified reporting facilities and integration with their core platforms. Worldline’s acquisition experience for airlines and expertise in the travel industry will also assist guarantee that the Lufthansa Group is best positioned to counter and mitigate the risks and difficulties that have surfaced in recent years throughout the sector. Worldline will also build the necessary payment infrastructure to satisfy the Lufthansa Group’s goals and position itself effectively as the industry resumes its rapid expansion phase.
The agreement will see Worldline handle global processing for Lufthansa and its sister corporations, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Edelweiss, allowing the group to benefit from Worldline’s ongoing investment in innovation, new markets, and airline-specific services such as Billing and Settlement Plans (BSP) and Accounts Receivable Conversion (ARC). The Lufthansa Group will employ Worldline’s TravelHub solution, which provides access to over 150 payment methods and currencies, as well as multi-acquiring, tokenization, and a variety of fraud services, all through a single reporting and settlement channel.
